Unique beauty Helen is special for many reasons. A one year old catahoula mix, she is what is called a “double merle”. This condition is responsible for her gorgeous coat and icy blue eyes, and as a result of it she is 100% deaf. A dog’s sense of hearing is very important, and without it Helen has naturally developed some defensive behaviors. Wary at first of new people and dogs, she warms up into a superbly happy, playful and affectionate girl as soon as she feels safe. She:
• Is 45 pounds
• Is working on house training
• Is good with other dogs, but will snap if startled by a dog that she doesn’t see approaching
• Is not good for a home with children
• Walks nicely in a harness
• Is medium to high energy
Helen needs a very special home that can take it slow with her and is prepared for the challenge of training a dog unable to hear commands. So worth the effort though, she adores the people in her life and will pour love into her new family. She has fully won our hearts and given the chance will certainly capture yours!
Helen is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative.
