As a Sponsor, you’ll receive pictures and stories in our emailed Kennel newsletter, which updates you about the dogs who call your kennel home every quarter.
We have two types of kennels:
- “Quarantine” Kennels that welcome our newly admitted dogs and dogs undergoing/recovering from medical treatments.
- “General Population” Kennels that serve as home for dogs during their stays at HLCR.
While we give our dogs lots of play time in large outdoor pens and walks on our trails, the kennels provide security, routine and a sense of home. Each kennel’s interior, exterior and dog bedding are thoroughly cleaned. We have several dogs inhabiting a kennel over the course of a year, changed out once a dog gets adopted.
Maintenance, upkeep and typical care costs for the animals inside is $1,250 annually for a General Population Kennel for 1 year.
Maintenance, upkeep and specialized medical care costs for animals inside is $1,500 for a Quarantine Kennel for 1 year.
Some families choose to split the cost and go in together as sponsors- as do employees, church groups, civic groups and neighbors. With your generous support we can continue to provide a nurturing space for these future pets.
